Lydia Ann Thompson

Mrs. Lydia Ann Thompson, beloved family member and friend was born November 8, 1958 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Helen Watson and the late John Willie Watson. She was the fifth to the oldest child. She departed this life on October 10, 2018 from an extended illness. She graduated from East Hall High School. She attended Lanier Tech where she received a certificate for Medical Assistant. Lydia accepted Christ at a young age. She would always have words of encouragement and inspiration for all whom she encountered through the years. She joined Back to the Bible Miracle Revival Fellowship Center under the leadership of Apostle Raymond Moss in 1976 where later Pastor Bobby Wright was ordained and became her pastor in 1996. Lydia was a faithful member and church secretary at Back to the Bible Holiness Church in Buford, Georgia. She had a strong faith in God and knowledge of his power and love. Her focus was on the salvation of all souls both far and near. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. John Willie Watson and brother Mr. Tracy Watson. “Lydia” worked at Peachtree Windows and Doors for twenty years. She was a bus driver for six years for Gainesville City School system. “Lydia” was married to James Earl Thompson for thirty-four years. She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband Mr. James Earl Thompson; mother Mrs. Mary Helen Watson; children: Traven (Monica) Watson, Marlion (Lynda)Thompson, Dustin (Benita) Thompson; brothers: Larry (Gloria) Watson; Charles (Margie) Watson; sisters: Tanger (Leon) Osborne, Sandra Hollingsworth, Sylvia (Herbert) Harrington; grandchildren: Treyona Watson, Tanai Watson, Travien Watson, Jaquay Thompson, Mykel Thompson, Mikayla Thompson, Sydni Thompson, Imani Thompson, Khalil Thompson, Michael Thompson, Lakayla Thompson; great grandchild Brielle Perry; aunt Mrs. Lula Mae Bivens; In-laws: Martha Hunter, Emmalene (Charles) Wood, Doris Mintz, Ralph (Kathleen) Thompson, Henry (Dell) Thompson, Charity Wheeler, Cheryl (Cedric) Niles, Laurie (John) Reed, Ollie (Timothy) Littlejohn, Ken (Evelyn) Thompson, Annie Lois (Robert) Brawner, Carolyn Buffington; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Lydia Ann Thompson will be greatly missed by her family but also by her church and the community of Gainesville, Georgia. Her love and legacy will live through her memories held in our hearts forever.
