Shirley Bell

Shirley Virginia Marshall Bell was the second of thirteen children (8 girls, 5 boys) born to the late William Fisher and Anna Lou Horton Marshall. She was born on April 5, 1936, in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. Her parents relocated to Fort Pierce, FL in 1939. Shirley received her basic education in St. Lucie County Public School system, graduating from Lincoln Park Academy with the Class of 1956. Shirley was a devoted servant of God. She began her spiritual journey at an early age with the First Born Church of the Living God, Fort Pierce, FL, under the pastorate of Elder J. H. Watson. Moving to Miami, FL in 1962, Shirley placed her membership again with The First Born Church serving faithfully until relocating to Atlanta, GA. Shirley was a loving wife to the late Arthur Bell II, a very lovely, amazing mother of seven, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley’s life was a beautiful testament to her faith and devotion to her family. She was an entrepreneur for many years in The Dry-Cleaning Business in Overtown, as well as a professional seamstress with designer experiences. She worked diligently without wavering, to give her children a well-deserved life. She was filled with fierce determination to make life better for others in whatever way she could. Shirley had memories beyond most, loved to read all the medical books to educate herself with a generous spirit to share with others her new knowledge. Shirley would light up when she shared the Word of God with whomever would listen. Through her own battles, she continued to smile and fight each day with a humble heart, full of faith and hope. Her beauty, amazing personality, and generous spirit will truly be missed. Shirley Bell departed this earthly house answering the call for her appointment on August 11, 2023, in Buford, Georgia. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by those who knew her. She was a woman of faith, courage, and integrity. Always standing, never wavering. Shirley V. Bell is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bell II; daughters: Armechia Felton, Andrea Green; son-in-law, David Green. She is survived by her son, Arthur Bell III, Arthenia Bell Moore, (Jamal); brothers: Johnnie Marshall (Kaytrine), Lewis Marshall (Annette), James Marshall (Sullar), and Jimmie Marshall (Elnora); sisters: Rosie Watson, Ernestine Marshall, Patricia Sims, Cassandra Jenkins ( Lawrence), Constance Adams (Franklin), Adewa McGee (Willie); best friend, Norma Jean Walker, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
