Latonji Michelle Wright

t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Latonji Michelle Wright, lovingly known as Tonya, who departed this life on December 31, 2024, at the age of 57. She was born on March 22, 1967, to Raymond Bell and Mae Francis Wright. Tonya was known for her energetic, outgoing spirit, and her confidence. Tonya was a passionate believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, and her faith was the foundation of her life. She was a vibrant soul who brought joy and energy to every room she entered. An outgoing and lovable soul, Tonya never met a stranger. Her energy and bold spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She was also a woman of many passions— doing hair, dancing, and partying brought her joy, as well as collecting beautiful jewelry and clothes. She had a strong love for her grandchildren, music, vibrant colors, seafood, watching drama films, sports, and sunny days at Panama Beach. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and took immense pride in watching her sons, grandkids, and other family members shine on the sports field. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Bell and Mae Francis Wright. She is survived by her three sons; Narquise (Patricia) Mintz, Marqise (April) Wright, and Lathin "EJ" Wright; Her six grandchildren; Ashley Mintz, Jordan Mintz, and Karly Mintz (Narquise Mintz), Amora Dorsey-Wright, Marqise "jr" Wright, and Marqel Wright (Marqise Wright); her eight siblings; Reginald Bell, Travis Keith, Anitra Jackson, Jermaine Witt, Kechia Bell, Shetika Bell, Lindsey Martin, and Stacey Bell; Some aunts and uncles; Dorothy Ivey, Robert (Peggy) Johnson, Peggy (Raymond) Caliman, Maryland (John) Chappelle, Carolyn Ellison, Eva Mae Bell, Wanda (Larry) King Jr, and Donna Bell; Her special friends/family; Leola Mangrum, Earl Mintz, and Tawanda Bell; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Tonya dedicated her life to her family and community, containing kindness and selflessness in all she did. Whether she was offering a helping hand or creating memories with loved ones, her presence was a blessing. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
