Louise Childers Lipscomb

Louise, an only child, was born, March 18, 1928, to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and Julia Childers in Gainesville, Georgia. Louise lost her father at a very earlier age, but was raised by a very committed mother, and a family of very strong women. Louise’s fondest childhood memories were on “Goss Hill”. Goss Hill was the family “Day Care Center”, where all the parents in the family, left their children in the care of Lula Goss, Mamie Bell Goss and Mae Emma Goss. Louise adored her grandparents, Emanuel, and Mae Dell Goss. Louise completed grade school through High School at Beulah Rucker, in Gainesville. Louise enjoyed baseball and basketball as a young child. Louise married the love of her life, James Douglas Lipscomb. Out of that relationship they had two children, Willie James Lipscomb, and Carlton Lamar Douglas Lipscomb. She was a hardworking, steadfast wife and mother. She and her husband raised up two sons to become strong and accomplished men who cared for their parents as she for her mother. In Louise’s early years, she worked in the poultry industry. And eventually transitioned to Leece Neville where she worked as an assembler of small engines for 20 years and retired at an early age. A loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law….her family was her life and meant everything to her. She was committed to making sure that every Sunday, there were home-cooked meals and desserts for all to enjoy. Her family enjoyed spending the time with her, sitting on the porch and talking with her about her early life. She welcomed all of her friends and neighbors to join her on her porch where she laughed and exchanged stories. She impacted many lives. She was a faithful member at Timber Ridge and sang in the choir. She also became a faithful member at First Baptist Church, in Gainesville, GA, where her Mother, Julia was also a member. She loved to sing and listen to gospel music. Louise enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, puzzles, crafts, shopping and finding deals, taking care of her home, family and spending time with her relatives and friends. We are thankful for her discipline, her prayers, her encouragement, and her sense of humor. Predeceased by: Husband, James Douglas Lipscomb; Mother, Julia Mattie (Goss) Randolph; Grandson, Kevin Lamar Lipscomb. Survived By: 2 SONS: Willie (wife, Janet) and Douglas 11 GRAND CHILDREN: Camille, Brian, Tracey (wife, Cheri), Terriea, Anika (husband, Sam), Brandon, and Nicholas (wife, Mari), Douglas Jr., Danielle, David and Madison. 9 GREAT-GRAND CHILDREN: Christopher, Serenity, Christina, Cayci, Kevin, Carter, Nyomi, Dominic and Kodi. AUNT: Hattie Mae (Leon, deceased) Goss COUSINS: Dorothy (Paul) Edmonds, Frankie Maddox, Theresa Bronner-Brown A host of other loving cousins & relatives.
