Mickle Lamar Lott

Mickle Lamar Lott, affectionately known as “Mike,” was born on October 4, 1959, in Gainesville to the late Lendell and Verman Ruth Mattox Lott. He was lovingly nurtured and guided by his devoted aunt and guardian, Dorothy Carter, whose care and affection helped shape his life. Mike possessed a radiant smile that could brighten any room and a spirit that brought warmth wherever he went. He lived with a joy that was both genuine and contagious, embracing life with an attitude that said, “I’m going to be alright.” Gifted with artistic talent, Mike found great joy in drawing portraits and capturing the beauty of people and the world around him. Through his art, he expressed himself freely and inspired others to believe in their own creativity and worth. His vibrant personality drew people in—he rarely met a stranger. As a gifted dancer, Mike was often the life of the gathering, spreading laughter and joy to all who were near. He loved deeply, especially his family, and above all, he loved the Lord. Mike was a proud graduate of Gainesville High School, where he played football and formed lifelong friendships that he cherished throughout the years. At an early age, he was baptized at New Salem Baptist Church, where he faithfully served on the Usher Board for many years before later relocating to LaGrange. His faith remained an important part of his life, grounding him through every season. Mike will be remembered for his joyful spirit, boundless creativity, and the love he shared so freely. His presence leaves a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come. On April 10, 2026, Mike peacefully departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lendell and Verma Ruth Lott and his sister, Mrs. Linda Ann Bell. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Detric Hudson of Gainesville and Ann Griffin of Athens; one treasured grandchild, De’Andre of Cumming; and a loving circle of siblings: Mrs. Mary Strickland (Conyers, GA), Ms. Emma Imes (Gainesville, GA), Ms. Brenda Daniels (Snellville, GA), Mr. Kenneth (Noemi) Lott (Gainesville, GA), Mrs. Teresa (Lorenzo) Riddick (Hampton, VA), Mr. Eric Waymon and Mr. Greg Mintz (Gainesville, GA), and Rev. Dianne (Curtis) Haynes, Sr. (Loganville, GA). Though he has gone from our sight, his love, laughter, and legacy will remain with us always.
