Joanne Ware

Ms. Joanne Ware was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She departed this earthly life on Friday, June 17, 2022, after serving 75 years on the Lord’s battlefield. Joanne was born on November 9, 1946, to the union of Boots and Delma Ware in Gainesville, Ga. The fifth of 11 children. She accepted Christ at an early age at Sanders Chapel (later renamed Rucker Memorial Baptist Church) and began to carry out her mission. She received her formal education at EE Bulter. Ms. Ware moved to Jacksonville, Fl, in 1985 and continued to carry out her mission at St, John Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board, Pastors Aid Board, Church Anniversary Committee as well as many other areas of the church. Joanne had a servant’s heart and a smile that could light up a room. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, home decorating, traveling, landscaping and gardening. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents (Boots and Delma Ware), one brother, Leroy Randolph, three sisters, Annie Lois Ware Thomas, Janet K. Ware and Doris A. Ware. Joanne’s celebration of life will be remembered by her three daughters, Marcia Brown (Michael) of Clinton, MD., Lisa Ware Howard (Alfonzo) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Angela W. Edwards (Roddy) of Tuscaloosa, Al, 2 grandchildren, Amber Edwards and Roddy D. Edwards, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Al. Life long Friend, Melvin Faulkner, Jr. Her siblings, Herschel Wells, Johnny (Mattie Lee) Harris, Jerrald Ware , Brenda Mize all of Gainesville, Ga. Bernice Ware of Decatur, Ga.; Michael (Janet) Ware of Hampton, Ga and Edna Parker of Norfork, Va. Sister’s in Love, LeJerdis(Reggie) Johnson and Betty Lou Chester. Daughters in Love, Patricia Kidd, Katrina Norris and Sylvia Smith. Sons in Love, Travis (Meco) Hawks and James Demetrius Smith. Best Friend (BFF) Terri Hargrove affectionately known as “Lou Lou”. Very dear friends, Vandalia Smith, Cheryl Bohannah, Debra Lewis, Terrell(Tammy) Faulkner and members of “The Birthday Club”. A host of nieces, nephews, friends and church members.
