Orlando Elon Ware

We, with the strength of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, try to heal from the transitioning of Orlando Elon Ware. He was a beloved son, brother, cousin and friend who left this world on July 7, 2026 at the age of 39. Born on February 6, 1987, in the charming city of Greenville, South Carolina, Orlando's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for those around him. Orlando was the cherished son of Barbara Ware Hawes, the late Edgar David Payne and his stepfather, Dennis L. Hawes. His mother, along with his devoted stepfather, provided him with unwavering support and love throughout his life. Those proceeding him in death in addition to his father were his dear sister Sandrea (affectionately known as Prissy) Shields, his brother Jermaine Brandon Payne, and his maternal grandmother Bonnie Sullivan. We take solace believing Orlando is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Educated in the Hall County School District, Orlando completed his studies at East Hall High School in Gainesville, Georgia. After relocating to Houston, Texas, his dedication and hard work led him to a successful career as a General Manager in the restaurant industry. He spent over a decade mastering this craft. Orlando was known for his ability to oversee daily operations with a focus on fostering a positive team culture, prioritizing exceptional customer service leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and patrons. Orlando had a natural joy for life, which was most evident in his love for fine foods and the laughter he shared with family and friends. His Mother recalls it was his warmth and humor that brought people together, creating bonds that will be remembered fondly. He is survived by his loving parents, Barbara and Dennis Hawes, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will continue to honor his memory. His extended family of friends and loved ones will forever treasure the moments they shared with him. He held a special place in the hearts of many including close friends Jaylon Walton, Shon Tucker and Jerald Parker. Though Orlando's time with us was far too brief, the impact he made on those who were fortunate enough to know him will be felt for generations. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire us all. As explained in the book of Matthew, the 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. As we bid farewell to Orlando, we do so with gratitude for the time we had with him and the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
